Sea Kayaking taster sessions
Suitable for beginners!

Start time: 1.30pm (3 hour session)
Venue: W. Loch Tarbert, end of Old Pier Road.
Boats, Paddles, Wetsuits, Cags, Buoyancy aids will be provided.
Participants will need to bring the following: old shoes/wetsuit boots, hat, suncream! And any snacks/hot drinks you may require.
Changing Room and Showers are available for use.

An opportunity to visit the remote village of Molingeanais on the shore of Loch Trolamaraig. This is a sheltered sea loch with plenty of wildlife and a wealth of cultural heritage. Bring lunch.

Roaring and Rutting at Ulladail
Guided Walk - , 11am-4pm Meet: Start of track on right just to E of Abhainn Suidhe Castle (NB 052 077)

Distance: 6 miles

A chance to experience the incredible spectacle of the red deer rut, each stag fighting to defend its harem of hinds. The walk will take you into Gleann Ulladail where the silhouette of Sron Ulladail, Britain's largest overhanging cliff, dominates the skyline.

Gleann Mhiabhaig to Bogha Glass
Guided Walk - 11am-5pm
Meet: Miabhaig (NB 101 062) on the Huisinis road

Distance: 12 miles

Complete this spectacular 12 mile route along tracks and paths through one of the largest areas of wild land in Scotland from Loch Mhiabhaig to the shores of Loch Seaforth. This route has around 500m of ascent passing through several remote glens and the southern tip of Loch Langabhat, the longest fresh water loch in the Western Isles.

There will be a bus pick-up at Bogha Glas to take walkers back to their vehicles at Miabhaig. We need to know numbers for the pick-up so please book a place.

Guided walks

The Guided walks are led by the North Harris Ranger Service. All walks are free of charge although donations to the North Harris Trust are welcome. Booking is required on the Gleann Mhiabhaig to Bogha Glass walk on the 1st October but all other walks don’t require booking. Just turn up.

In order to be prepared for the notoriously unpredictable Scottish climate you should bring waterproofs and wear walking boots or other sturdy footwear on all walks.
